PM Modi Launches Multiple Development Projects in Thiruvananthapuram

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched several development projects and flagged off new train services in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The initiatives focus on urban development, public transport, healthcare, scientific research, and financial inclusion, aligning with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

What projects were launched?

The Prime Minister launched and inaugurated multiple projects across different sectors:

1. PM SVANidhi initiatives

  • Launched the PM SVANidhi Credit Card
  • Disbursed PM SVANidhi loans to one lakh beneficiaries
  • The scheme supports street vendors and roadside sellers by providing easy access to institutional credit

2. Rail infrastructure

  • Flagged off four new train services, including:
    • Three Amrit Bharat Express trains
    • One passenger train
  • Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed to provide affordable, improved, and modern travel facilities for common passengers

3. Science and technology

  • Laid the foundation stone for a CSIR–NIIST Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Hub
  • The hub aims to promote research, innovation, start-ups, and technology-based entrepreneurship

4. Healthcare

  • Laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Radiosurgery Centre at the
    Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology
  • The centre will strengthen advanced medical treatment and healthcare infrastructure in the region

5. Postal services

  • Inaugurated the new Poojappura Head Post Office
  • This will enhance postal and financial services for residents
